About the publication
Growth Through Content
A publication and strategic platform about visibility, demand, fame and the mechanics of being found.
Why this exists
Marketing works in silos. Buyers don’t.
Buyers discover brands through a messy mix of reputation, repeated exposure, recommendations, search results, press coverage, content and category associations. They don’t care which department gets the credit. They care whether a brand shows up when it matters.
How do brands become more likely to be discovered, remembered, trusted and chosen?
The history behind it
Built by a detective who saw search as intelligence
Founder Andrew Holland spent 17 years in the police, including covert detective work. It built a bias toward evidence, pattern recognition, signal detection and understanding how information moves through systems. Then came Zoogly Media, and leading SEO at JBH, a Manchester digital PR agency.
- Search is an intelligence environment.
- The web is a network.
- Visibility is not random.
- Authority leaves traces.
- Language shapes retrieval.
- Influence can be mapped.
The industry ledger
Too much of the industry was focused on outputs instead of outcomes. Growth Through Content was created as the response. Read Andrew’s story →
What the newsletter became
Ideas pulled from nine disciplines
It started as a vehicle for sharper thinking about SEO, digital PR, content and brand growth, and became something more distinctive by combining fields that rarely meet.
Visibility is earned through signal architecture, not just activity.
What it stands for
Five principles
Content is not the asset. Discovery is the asset.
Content is a mechanism for generating visibility signals. The value isn’t the article itself, it’s what that content does to the brand’s position in the market.
SEO is bigger than rankings
Search is shelf space. It’s about appearing in the right moments, reducing ambiguity, building entity relevance and owning useful territory in the buyer’s mind.
Digital PR is not just link building
PR places brands inside trusted editorial environments and shapes how entities connect in the public information layer, with consequences for search, memory and AI retrieval.
Fame matters more than most performance marketers admit
Not every business needs to be a household name, but every business benefits from being disproportionately known within the category entry points that matter to its buyers.
AI changes the game, but not in the way most people think
Large language models aren’t simply counting citations. They work across patterns of language, association, consensus, prominence and inferred fitness for a prompt, which makes AI discovery feel less like classic search and more like networked recommendation. The winners won’t be the brands with the most pages. They’ll be the brands with the strongest signals across the network.

Both a publication and a proving ground:
In plain English
How do we become easier to find, easier to trust and harder to ignore?
Growth doesn’t come from publishing more for the sake of it. It comes from becoming more visible in the moments that matter, through practice, evidence and better models.
